
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba)’s credentials as an organisation that upholds environmental values and develops practical solutions to eliminate waste was bolstered through its sponsorship support worth BD 5,000 (US$ 13,000) for the 1st Bahrain Waste Management Forum & Exhibition 2011: Towards Zero Waste.Organised under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning, Dr Juma bin Ahmed Al Ka’abi, the 1st Bahrain Waste Management Forum & Exhibition 2011: Towards Zero Waste is being held on November 14 & 15, 2011 at the Gulf International Convention Centre, Gulf Hotel, Bahrain.Alba is the Gold Sponsor of this event hosted by Bahrain Polytechnic, and supported by the United Nations Educational Programme (UNEP) and the Public Commission for Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife (PMEW) with Tamkeen as a strategic partner.The inaugural conference provides a platform for local, regional and global experts to address some of the urgent issues related to waste management, explores some of the latest developments and technologies in the field, and examines progress made as well as challenges that lie ahead in successfully recycling waste.There will also be a tertiary youth forum, an exhibition and social networking events throughout the two days of the conference.Alba will be sharing its expertise through paper presentations during the two-day conference.
