
Minister of State for Telecommunications, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammad Al Khalifa, today received Chiefs Executive Officers of telecom companies in Bahrain, Batelco, Zain, Viva and Menatelecom.
Telecommunications State Minister reviewed ways to improve and develop the mobile phone networks and internet services following the outages that hit the internet services in some areas in Bahrain.
He lauded the successes achieved by the same companies and the efforts made by their heads to upgrade the telecommunications sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain to reinforce Bahrain's high standing as a regional and international leader in the telecommunications sector.
He highlighted the support delivered by Bahrain's government led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa for telecom companies to enable them to play their vital role in enhancing the national economy.
He noted the high quality and low rates charged by the operating companies in Bahrain compared to the same in the Gulf region, and the fair competitive environment that assist in promoting the development of the telecommunications sector.
He underlined the importance of developing the telecommunications infrastructure and improving services provided to the customers for the benefit of the development of the sustainable economic process.
He underscored keeping pace with the latest technologies in the field of telecommunications and information technology and ecouraging the investment in this important sector, wishing them success to achieve the desired goals.
