Central Bank of Syria CBS on Monday sold a quantity of USD to the money-change companies with 185 SYP against 1 USD to be sold, in return, to the citizens with 186 SYP against 1 USD.
The Bank held a meeting with representatives of the companies to return balance to the market and keep the price of the Syrian pound against foreign currency stable.
The Syrian pound price improved for the second consecutive day to record 186 SYP against 1 USD in Damascus and other Syrian cities.
“The CBS observes the market and will hunt manipulators during the coming days,” CBS governor Adib Mayaleh said in a statement.
