Chrysler Group LLC on Tuesday reported that its U.S. vehicle sales reached 114,512 in October, rising 27 percent from the same month of last year, which represents the 19th consecutive monthly sales gain. Reid Bigland, head of Chrysler's U.S. sales, said that automaker's strong performance in October is mainly driven by its retail sales, which increased 40 percent year-over-year with sales of the Chrysler 300 more than doubling and Jeep Compass sales increasing fivefold. The Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram Truck brands all posted sales increases in October, of which the brand of Chrysler hiked 28 percent year-on-year, the largest percentage gain of all the Chrysler Group brands. Chrysler reported a rosy third quarter financial results last week, with the net income hitting 212 million U.S. dollars. It raised the prediction of 2011's net income to 600 million dollars.
