The National Navigation Company (CNAN) has tentatively assigned the market for the purchase of a batch of two cargo-carrying ships from two Bulgarian and Dutch maritime companies, the company said in an award notice published Sunday in the national press.
This notice of provisional award to the Bulgarian maritime company "IHB Shipping Marciana ltd" and Dutch company "Noordriver Shipping lieke shipping" is part of an international call for tenders issued by the CNAN for acquisition of four (4) new ships in service or within five (5) years of age on the day of delivery.
These two ships, "Marciana" and "Lieke," are part of a batch of several other vessels to be acquired before the end of 2014 by CNAN as announced by Transport Minister Amar.
The minister announced a program to modernize the national fleet which includes the purchase of 27 vessels including 25 cargo-carrying ones and two (2) passenger vessels, estimated at DZD 120 billion.
