
A contract undertaken by Control Systems Company to work on the preliminary stage of Kuwait's metro project is currently being considered for approval, said Fatmah al-Kanderi, a supervisor on the project, in statements to KUNA on Wednesday. Al-Kanderi noted that the company will be in charge of the first phase of the project out of a total of five phases. The first network of rails will link Kuwait International Airport with Kuwait city and the suburb of Salmiya, followed by preparation for the other phases in future which will be announced at a later date. The project will rest on cooperation between the private and the government sectors, in accordance with law no. 7 for the year 2008. Besides Control Systems Co., there will be four other ones that will be charged with executing infrastructure details for the metro project, said al-Kanderi.
