A Delta plane from New York's JFK airport bound for Tel Aviv received a bomb threat late on Monday but was later cleared to fly, Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post reported Tuesday.
The threat was directed at Delta flight number 468, but as this number is shared by the San Francisco-JFK route as well as the JFK-Tel Aviv route, both planes were checked.
The person who called in the threat reported that an explosive device was on-board, suggesting it might be a pipe bomb.
Joe Pentangelo, a police spokesman for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, said both flights were checked and cleared by authorities.
There was no evidence to suggest that the threat was real, a law enforcement official said, but authorities followed protocol in such cases.
"All clear at JFK airport following earlier bomb threat to Delta flight," the FBI's New York office said on Twitter.
