
Gulf Petrochemicals Industries Company (GPIC) won Arabian Prize for Social Responsibility for medium-sized enterprises during ceremony held on this purpose in Dubai, UAE under the kind auspices of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority chairman cum CEO of Emirates Airlines and Dubai Airports His Highness Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum organized by Arabic CSR Network attended by about 42 firms from 10 Arab countries. The forum was also attended by a representative on behalf of the UN secretary-general , UNDP Resident Representative in the United Arab Emirates, chief of the “UN Principles for Responsible Businesses” and a number of international VIPs in the area of social responsibility of organizations, etc. The award, launched in the year 2008, is considered the most significant of its kind in the region and receives support from the United National International Charter. The arbitration panel of the award comprises: the official spokesman of the United Nations International Charter Mr. Matthias Strasberg, Asian Management Institute’s dean Dr. Grace Aught, Holland- Sustainable Strategies Company director Ralph Therm and Egyptian Directors’ Center CEO Ashraf Jamal.
