
Turkish Airlines recently became the newest international carrier to enter the rank of Associate membership at ALTA, the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association. Joining ALTA cements Turkish Airlines´ commitment to expanding its presence in the Latin America & Caribbean region. Alex de Gunten, Executive Director of ALTA, expressed the following, “The Latin America and Caribbean Region has become increasingly connected to the rest of the world with a considerable growth outlook. We are glad that Turkish Airlines has taken the important step of joining our association to become a dynamic player in the community of airlines doing business in the region.” Turkish Airlines' Chief Executive Officer, Temel Kotil, Ph.D. said, “Turkish Airlines understands the potential and opportunity the Latin American & Caribbean market represents for international carriers. Joining ALTA is a strategic step to ensure we are part of the aviation environment in that Region and can immerse ourselves in the spirit of more efficient and safer operations that ALTA represents on behalf of Latin America & the Caribbean.”
