Volkswagen, General Motors post record sales

US General Motors sold a record 9.9 million cars and trucks last year, it was announced. The US giant automaker increased its sales by 2 per cent in China and other Asian markets.
Despite the record sales of General Motors, German automaker Volkswagen group remains a world leader, with over 10 million vehicles sold last year.
The Japanese giant automaker Toyota is expected to announced its sales figure for 2014 next week.
