The economic delegation of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) to Qatar held a series of meetings with officials of economic, services, financial and investment sectors in Qatar. Headed by Saeed Rashid Al Dhaheri, ADCCI Board Member, the delegation held meeting with the Chairman and Board Members of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) and officials from the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) as well as representatives of property development and investment companies in Doha, the Capital of Qatar. During the meeting, Al Dhaheri invited Qatari businessmen and investors to take a deeper look at the available investment opportunities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and take advantage of the facilities the Emirati government provides. Trade figures between Abu Dhabi and Qatar recorded high growth rates over the past few years; however, it went through a slowdown in 2010. Trade exchange between the two sides registered AED 3.97 billion in 2009 compared to AED 544 million in 2005. These figures declined to AED 534 million in 2010. “Despite such figures but we still foresee wider cooperation prospects between Abu Dhabi and Qatar, especially that the private sector in each of the two sides possesses what qualifies them to hold large investment projects in all sectors and on all levels,” the Board Member said. “Businessmen and investors in Abu Dhabi and Qatar should take advantage of the available investment opportunities and initiate joint investments in strategic sectors with high feasibility,” he added. Also, the ADCCI delegation took part in the UAE pavilion in Project Qatar 2012 conference which concluded its activities last week. The UAE pavilion included 140 Emirati companies from different sectors. The participation of the Chamber in this exhibition comes from its awareness in promoting for Abu Dhabi as an important attraction center for investments in the region. The pavilion of the UAE in the exhibition attracted the biggest companies which stressed their interest in investing in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, especially in the sectors that Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 focuses on.
