Agriculture and Irrigation Minister on Wednesday said that the ministry is preparing a food security document in Yemen and will refer to donors for funding. During his meeting with US Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director to Yemen Robert Wilson, Farid Mujawar said the ministry is looking forward to the Agency's support for preparing the document to help provide the necessary assistances to the food security program. He also requested the USAID to focus its aid on the most needed areas and in order to make tangible achievements help to improve the living conditions of families in rural areas. Major praised the role the USAID plays in assisting the ministry through carrying out many activities and campaigns in areas of combating pests and food security. Wilson emphasized the Agency's readiness to intensify its future activities and to concentrate on areas suffering from a shortage of food and developing water resources as well. The two officials also discussed the possibility of enhancing the cooperation for developing the agricultural sector activities in Yemen in addition to motivating donors to speed up granting their financings to support the development in Yemen.
