President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, Monday addressed at Justice Tower in Khartoum the Conference of Development and Reform of Legal Work in the presence of the Chief Justice and his deputies, Chairman of the Constitutional Court, several federal ministers, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Deputy Chairman of the Council of States, Walis (governors) of States, former of Ministers of Justice, Dean of Sudanese Bar Association and a number of lawyers. President Al-Bashir has called on the government institutions to abide by law and to review the national legislations to remove any contradiction of jurisdictions. He affirmed the government keenness to accountability and protection of public money, directing the Ministry of Justice to issue the necessary legislations and to tighten measures over public money cases. President Al-Bashir affirmed the necessity that the legal counselor be full independent and he should not be paid by organ of which he works for, calling for establishment of a Fund for supporting the legal counselors with contribution from the Presidency. The Minister of Justice, Mohamed Bushara Dosa said that sponsorship and addressing to the Conference by President Al-Bashir is conducive to success of the Conference, especially that the country is brace to approaching a new era for relinquishing violence, establishing good relations with our neighboring countries and issuing of a new constitution in agreement of all parties. He expressed hope that the conference will come out with recommendations on reform of justice and removal of contradictions in jurisdictions of the national and states institutions as well as on assessment of performance of criminal and specialized prosecutions. Dosa commended performance of General Prosecutor of Darfur Crimes, Judge, Yassir Ahmed Mohammed and his aides for considering over 40 cases and for existence at the scene of incidents. The Undersecretary of Ministry of Justice and Chairman of Conference Preparatory Committee, Judge, Esam-Eddin Abdul-Gadir said the Conference will evaluate the services being provided by Ministry of Justice, affirming the Ministry's determination to impose justice and the rule of law.
