
The Vocational Training Partnership Council, installed Tuesday in Algiers with its new structure, aims mainly at adapting training to the new socioeconomic environment. The Council has been installed for the first time for three-year term in January 2011, in accordance with the executive decree defining the remits and the functioning of the body, and the provisions of the law of 23 February 2008 on vocational training and education. In accordance with the executive decree N°09-170 of 2 May 2009, the council was entrusted the mission to enrich the national strategy of vocational training and education in order to ensure its coherence, improve it and adapt training to the socioeconomic environment. The Council is also in charge of examining the annual reports on the programmes achieved and presenting an annual report to the minister of Vocational Training and Education. The Council comprises a general assembly, a bureau and specialized technical committees. It will be strengthened by provincial partnership committees, in charge of ensuring coordination with the different social and economic partners The general assembly is composed of representatives of several sectors and elected bodies for a three-year term. The Council aims at encouraging economic partners to participate more effectively in the different partnership bodies in the economic sector. It also allow them to express their needs in order to adapt training courses provided at the vocational educational centres to the labour market needs.
