
The Arab Investment Meeting (AIM) will be held in the Permanent Headquarters of the Arab Organizations Building here, on December 11-12, under the theme "Investment Attractiveness Gap." The event is jointly organized by the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (Dhaman), the Arab Planning Institute (API) and Kuwait Direct Investment Authority (KDIPA). A notable number of participants will take part in the event; including Arab ministers of investment and planning, heads of investment promotion agencies, representatives from the Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, Arab investors and businessmen, said a press statement by event organizing committee. It added that the representatives of relevant regional organizations and a number of renowned experts and public figures will be among the attendees. The meeting will aspire to achieve a number of objectives: exchanging of lessons learnt from Arab and International experiences in promoting and attracting foreign investment, exploring the reality of foreign and intraregional investment in Arab countries, identifying the most important impediments to investment in Arab countries at the planning, legislative and institutional levels and re-formulating the investment policies in the Arab countries to become more streamlined with the overall development strategies and plans. The meeting will be holding five sessions over two days.
