Bahraini Parliament Committee holds meeting with finance minister

The Parliament Financial and Economic Affairs Committee today held key meetings with Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa. Chaired by Mp. Latifa Al-Qaoud, the session discussed the Government's reply to parliamentary demands regarding the state budget 2013-2014 under royal decree (76) for 2012. Mp. Al-Qaoud will chair a meeting of the Parliament and Shura Council joint financial committee tomorrow – Tuesday – to finalize the figures featuring in the State Budget 2013-2014. The panel is expected to submit the finalized state budget 2013-2014 by the end of this month. Parliament Financial and Economic Affairs Committee Mp. Latifa Al-Qaoud presided over a meeting with Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Abdulla Fakhro and discussed the planned economic and expo cities. Members of the Shura Council Financial and Economic Affairs Committee also attended the session. The new ambitious economic city is expected to create up to 240 work opportunities on completing the project which will contribute to consolidating Bahrain's economic competitiveness. Mp. Al-Qaoud stressed the importance of associating the private sector in the BD5.5 billion landmark city, in line with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
