In the first half of 2013, Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ), one of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives (ALJCI), created 385 job opportunities for young males around the Kingdom through its taxi ownership program, which helps them generate a monthly income of SR4,000. Hani Al-Zahrani, director of the taxi ownership program in Saudi Arabia, announced that the Kingdom’s 26 branches are operating this program. According to him, the program is not stipulating any particular brand of cars. Instead, the car should be approved by the Ministry of Transportation. Since 2002 to the end of July 2013, BRJ helped in providing 3,794 taxi cars for young males through its branches in the Kingdom. Since its inception, BRJ has been helping to create job opportunities for young males and females. The taxi ownership program was started in 2002 as one of those programs, and since then it is creating job opportunities for unemployed young males who are seeking to work as taxi drivers. Al-Zahrani said: "The taxi ownership program provides fully equipped cars at easy installment to the young males who will be able to immediately start working as taxi drivers. They will then fully own their cars after payment of the installments. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Ministry of Labor, Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), Credit and Saving Bank, and Charity Fund for their support to various BRJ programs." Ahmed Salim Rada Al-Masoudi, one of the young males who benefited from the program in Jeddah, was pleased to have joined this program, which helped him start a career in transportation industry. Al-Masoudi said with the car received through this program, he started a new career and is happy to earn at least SR4,000 a month
