China's foreign exchange regulator has revised capital and financial account deficit data for the third quarter to 51.7 billion U.S. dollars from the previous 71 billion U.S. dollars. The current account surplus in the third quarter was revised to 70.8 billion U.S. dollars from the previous 70.6 billion U.S. dollars, according to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. Commodity trade registered a surplus of 102.9 billion U.S. dollars, while service trade saw a deficit of 29.7 billion U.S. dollars. The net inflow of foreign direct investment was 38.5 billion U.S. dollars. Excluding the effect of changes in exchange rates and asset prices, the country's international reserve assets shed 400 million U.S. dollars in the third quarter. In the first three quarters, China's current account surplus was 148 billion U.S. dollars, while the capital and financial account deficit was 36.8 billion U.S. dollars. International reserve assets added 62.4 billion U.S. dollars.
