The Joint Finance Committee for Shura and Representatives Councils held its ninth meeting under the chairmanship of MP Latifa Al-Qo’oud, with the Minister of Finance, Shaikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa to hand over the Executive Authority the remarks of the MPs and Shura members. These remarks are about what should be included in the State’s general budget’s draft for the two fiscal years 2013, 2014, associated with the Royal Decree No. 76 for 2012. The most important of these demands are: to increase the salaries of the employees in the public sector by 15%, and to increase the retirees with an amount of 150 Bahraini Dinars and thus raise the pension for this important category of the Bahraini community. Also among the demands: to approve the allowance for high prices according to the standards that were discussed before at the Council of Representatives within various categories, and to increase the budget allocated for a number of governmental ministries and bodies aiming at implementing the proposed development and services projects submitted by them. Among the demands as well: to include the revenues and expenses of the Ministry of Municipalities under the umbrella of the Ministry of Finance, where this proposal received a joint understanding and consensus from the government and the committee, in addition to a number of other demands. On the other hand, the committee will continue its meetings later with the Executive Authority concerning the demands it received from the Ministry of Finance, where they will decide the times of the next joint meetings later.
