The delegation of the Syrian community in Romania held a campaign for supporting the Syrian pound through exchanging currency and opening new accounts at the Commercial Bank of Syria. Head of the Syrian community in Romania, Dr. Issam Rifaai told SANA that the delegation which includes about 75 members from all the spectrums of the Syrian community in Romania, is visiting Syria in solidarity with the motherland and in support to the comprehensive reform program under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, in addition to inspecting the reality of the events. He indicated that the visit was organized according to an initiative by the Syrian Expatriates Association in Romania as a number of the Romanian journalists will accompany the delegation to get acquainted with the reality of what is taking place in Syria and to convey a true image to the public opinion in Romania. He added that the delegation encompasses journalists representing visual mass media in Romania, pointing out that the Syrian community in Romania has held a lot of the activities and campaigns to support their country. For his part, Chairman of Syrian Businessmen Council in Brazil, Haitham al-Asaad said " We came to Syria to express our feelings towards the homeland and its people…We invited our friends in Romania to visit Syria with the aim of denouncing media falsifications and to convey the reality of the situation to the public opinion in Europe."
