The authorities of North Korea on Wednesday delayed the dispatch of the South Korean personnel -- citizens of the Republic of Korea (ROK) -- to the inter-Korean industrial complex located in the border city of Kaesong, the Yonhap news agency reported. More than 860 citizens of the Republic of Korea (ROK) remain outside the Kaesong complex, with the DPRK authorities barring South Korean personnel from it, reported the staff of the immigration control, customs service and medical quarantine station at Paju, Gyeonggi Province). The authorities of North Korea delay the dispatch of ROK citizens to the location of the inter-Korean industrial complex in the border city of Kaesong. The Kaesong complex, located in the territory of the DPRK remains the only living example of economic cooperation between the North and South. It is the vivid result of the first historic inter-Korean summit held in 2000 in Pyongyang between the now late ROK President Kim Dae-jung and the then leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Il.Operating at Kaesong complex are now 123 South Korean production plants which employ about 800 citizens of the ROK and over 53,000 local North Korean citizens who turn out consumer goods.
