Dubai Customs inspectors at Dubai International Airport foiled a drug cargo arriving from an Asian country that contains 500,000 tablets, weighing 441 kg, of the prohibited drugs; Tramadol. Senior Manager of Air Cargo Operations Department Omar Al Mehairi said, the cargo was seized in the Flower Inspection Section at the Free Zone Inspection Center at Dubai International Airport. A pack which contained medicines for human consumption was suspected during the inspection operations and was transferred to the Ministry of Health which is the official specialized body to check the medicine. The checkup confirmed that the medicine is prohibited and cannot be taken for non-medical purposes as they were listed under controlled medicine Class A. This medicine is listed within the internationally restricted and controlled drugs and a decision from the respective authorities in the UAE with regards to proscribing dealing or using this drug without a prescription.
