The Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES) is seeing a change of leadership as its executive director returns to her previous post at the International Monetary Fund. Magda Kandil left on 30 June to resume her role as IMF senior economist, the Cairo-based ECES said in a statement on Sunday. Omneia Helmy, a senior economist at the ECES, has been named Acting Executive Director pending a board decision on a permanent head. Founded in the early 2000s with the ex-president's son Gamal Mubarak as board member, ECES is a non-profit think tank carrying out applied economic research. From Ahramonline
