Births of new enterprises in France increased by 12.4 percent in September after losing ground over the previous months, French national statistics bureau Insee said on Friday. With self-managed enterprises included, 46,476 new firms were registered in September. Enterprise births were down by 3 percent month on month excluding self-managed enterprises, according to the seasonally and working-day adjusted data. On quarterly basis, the number of enterprise births inched up by 0.6 percent year on year during the third quarter, which was mainly due to the contribution of education, human health and social work activities and construction. The Insee also said more than one out of two new enterprises were self-managed ones, which totaled 234,720 during the first eight months of the year.
