Germany signed a 13.5-million-U.S.- dollar aid agreement with Jordan to help it overcome its water scarcity, especially in the north, the state-run Petra news agency reported Tuesday. The aid will be used to complete some water projects, which, according to Jordan's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ibrahim Seif, will help meet the needs of a large segment of citizens for water. Jordan is ranked as the fourth poorest country in terms of water, according to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation. Moreover, some 600,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan have worsened the country's severe water shortage.
