Hong Kong employers are planning to hire more staff in the third quarter of this year, according to a survey released on Tuesday by the human resources company, ManpowerGroup. The company surveyed more than 800 employers in Hong Kong, local media reported. ManpowerGroup's Regional Managing Director, Lancy Chui, said the construction and services sectors were most upbeat about hiring staff. She said infrastructural projects are giving rise to job opportunities. Chui also said hiring within the finance, real estate and insurance sectors is likely to remain steady in the third quarter. But downsizing might adversely affect fresh graduates with business-related degrees. She said hiring in the manufacturing sector in Hong Kong might weaken because factory orders are vulnerable to a deteriorating external business environment.
