Indonesia recorded 15.38 billion U. S. dollars of exports throughout January this year, or 1.24 percent lower than in the corresponding period last year and 0.11 percent lower than in Dec. last year, a senior Indonesian official said here on Friday. Head of Indonesia's Central Statistic Bureau (BPS) Suryamin said that China was still dominating export destination country in January with total value of 1.49 billion U.S. dollars, or 11.65 percent from total exports. It was followed by Japan at 1.4 billion U.S. dollars (10.96 percent) and India at 1.32 billion U.S. dollars (10.34 percent) from total exports, he added. Suryamin said as quoted by the Kompas.com that India has replaced the United States as Indonesia's third largest export destination country. On the other hand, Indonesia posted increasing import by 6.82 percent year-on-year to 15.55 billion U.S. dollars. It was mostly contributed by increasing imports on oil and gas products by 9.04 percent to 4.04 billion U.S. dollars.
