In line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Abdullah Fakhro is currently on a visit to Thailand at an invitation by his Thai counterpart. He is accompanied by a delegation of senior businessmen, including mainly members of the Bahraini-Thai Business Council. The Industry and Commerce Minister met today Thai Minister of Agriculture Yukol Limlamthong and discussed with him procedures taken by Bahrain to ensure food safety. He pointed out cooperation with many countries, including mainly Thailand which has large agricultural lands and high quality products. Both sides also discussed issues of common concern and ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the food security field. They also underscored the importance of activating joint agreements in the private sector and availing of each other's expertise. The meeting was attended by members of the accompanying delegation which includes Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Board Chairman Dr. Essam Abdullah Fakhro, BCCI members, Bahraini embassy Charge D'Affaires Khalil Yaqoob Al Khayat and representatives from the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry, the Foreign Ministry and the Industry and Commerce Ministry.
