Inflation stable in eurozone and European Union

The inflation rate was stable in July in both the eurozone and the European Union, Eurostat data said Thursday. The rate was 2.4% in the eurozone and 2.5% in the European Union in July. The rate was down 0.5% on the month in the 17-member eurozone. Italy's inflation rate was 3.6%. The lowest rates were recorded in Switzerland at 0.7%, Greece at 0.9% and Germany at 1.9%.
