Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti has said that both Italy and France agree that the European Union hasn't exerted the needed effort to resolve the debt crisis. He said in joint press conference here with French President Francois Hollande on Thursday "The progress made, including in the governance of the euro zone, is not sufficient and we need to strengthen the weak part of the system," He also said that Italy and France are both welcoming the latest EU agreement to support the Spanish banks falling in debt crisis. "I want to reaffirm the hope, shared with President Hollande, that Athens will remain in the eurozone and respect its engagements," Monti said. Monti and Hollande met to discuss ways to resolve euro zone debt crisis.
