A high-level Japanese business delegation will pay a two-day visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain in October. Japanese Ambassador Shijeki Sumi announced the visit as he met today at Beit Al-Tejjar Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Treasurer and Acting Chief Executive Officer Othman Mohammed Sharif Al-Rayyes. BCCI board members Jawad Yusuf Al-Hawaj and Kadhim Isa Al-Saeed attended the meeting along with Japanese Embassy trade attaché and other representatives of official Japanese parties. The business delegation will include officials representing major Japanese companies operations in twenty commercial sectors. A forum outlining the latest Japanese strides in the sectors of technology and energy will be held. Bahraini businessmen will have the chance to meet the Japanese delegation and discuss means of promoting joint economic cooperation and explore investment opportunities in both countries. Mr. Al-Rayyes stressed the resolve of the chamber to ensure the success of the Japanese business delegation’s two-day visit and arrange meetings with their Bahraini counterparts towards bolstering economic and trade cooperation with the Kingdom. He underscored the importance of exchanging trade visits, stressing the chamber’s readiness to coordinate with the Japanese Embassy in coordinating joint events. He welcomed Japanese investments, highlighting Bahrain’s strategic geographic location a gate to the GCC market, international recognized banking and financial centre and flexible legislations. He also expressed the firm desire of the Bahraini private sector to develop economic relations and boost the volume of trade exchanges with Japan, stressing the necessity to exploit the investment opportunities.
