Jordan on Monday signed an agreement with an international coalition to implement a third stage power generator station project east of the capital worth USD 780 million, with plans to produce 580 Megawatt. According to Jordan news agency (Petra) the station, operated by diesel technology engines capable of burning heavy fuel, diesel and natural gas and will be implemented through Amman Asia Electric Power Company, which represents a coalition of internationally companies like, (KEPCO Korean and Japanese Mitsubishi and Finnish Wartsila). The Jordanian government is executing power station projects through the private sector in response to expected increase in demand in the energy sector, government estimation put progress in demand will increase 7.4 percent from the 2007 until 2020.
