His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday stressed the need that the King Abdullah II Fund for Development gives utmost importance to enabling citizens economically and socially, especially youths through pilot projects and enterprises to secure better future for them. The King said, during a visit on Sunday to the fund's headquarters and meeting with its president and members of board of trustees, "the fund's role is important in the next stage, and a complement to our comprehensive reform, especially with regard to the citizens community empowerment program." His Majesty the King stressed the importance of strengthening local communities' participation in public life and entrenching a culture of dialogue, democratic values and voluntary work. He expressed optimism about the results of the programs implemented by the fund, particularly those related to creativity, excellence and leadership among young people. King Abdullah stressed the need for enhancing communication between citizens and civil society organizations to be active partners in the overall development process. He also pointed to the role of the fund in providing productive and sustainable employment opportunities that will improve the standard of living of citizens, urging closer cooperation between the fund and other state institutions to focus on productive projects, particularly in the agricultural sector.
