Kuwait construction codes cmte chief presents national project

Secretary general of the National Committee for preparations of codes Abdulkareem Al-Zaid briefed Monday officials at the Public Housing Welfare Authority (PHWA) over codes to be followed in construction projects. The National Committee is responsible for preparing all codes and implementing them in national projects, Al-Zaid said during his presentation. He said the committee formed two teams, the first responsible for regulations of construction and the second tasked with implementing codes. He said the Kuwaiti Code was already implemented in some projects like the Green Building code in the ministry of public works. Construction codes are conditions, regulations and laws which organize work in the construction projects. They organize the type of materials and governs safety and environment. Director General of PHWA Subhi Al-Mulla said the National Committee would contribute to easing procedures for citizens and government departments. He said all PHWA employees would be trained on the national program for the preparation of codes becuase of its importance.
