
Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Thikra Al-Rashidi underlined here on Sunday the significance of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's initiative for bankrolling small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Arab world. Addressing the 33rd session of the council of Arab ministers of social affairs, which kick-started here today, the minister said His Highness the Amir's initiative was mainly intended to provide a decent life to thousands of Arab families. She reiterated here country's willingness to launch more effective and influential cooperation with all Arab countries in the field of social development, hailing Jordan's social role. In a keynote speech, Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour said waves of refugees influxes from neighbor countries to Jordan have created major social pressures and burdens but the Kingdom was able to maintain civil peace, security and social cohesion. Ensour said Jordan made strides on various social development indicators and distinguished success on the path towards social welfare. He hoped that the gathering would come up with outcomes that could serve the issues of joint Arab social issues.
