
Legendary Eiji Toyoda that headed Toyota Motor Corporation for many years and made it the world’s largest car producer, deceased today in the age of 100 years. He died of heart failure in a hospital of the town of Toyoda, where the headquarters of the company is located. Eiji Toyoda was the nephew of Sakichi Toyoda, one of the founders of the corporation that primarily was engaged only in weaver looms production. In 1937, within the framework of a united group has been created the motor corporation, in which Eiji Toyoda was working from its first days. He was president of the corporation in 1967-1982, then, in 1982-1992, he chaired the Directors Board. Since 1992, Eiji Toyoda was honorary president of the company, and in 1999 he became its top adviser. Under his guidance was developed the first entirely Japanese car brand - Crown. Eiji Toyoda achieved a historical breakthrough: in 1957, the export of Toyota cars began, and they started to successfully sell on the US market. This businessman was one of the originators of a unique system of job engineering in the corporation that allows it to operate almost without warehouses thanks to the streamlining of all labor processes.
