
The Ministry of Finance (MoF), represented by the Development Revenue Department, recently received a delegation from the Ministry of Interior (MOI) to brief them on the latest developments of the e-Dirham system. MoF is committed to promoting partnerships with various federal and local government entities and is continuously seeking to organise similar events to strengthen ties. On behalf of MoF, the meeting was attended by Mariam Mohammad Al Amiri, Assistant Under Secretary for the Management of Financial Resouces; Azza Al Suwaidi, Director of Revenue Development Department; Mona Al Mulla, Head of Collection Department and Rashid Al Shakshir, Director of the e- Dirham system. Meanwhile, the MOI delegation included Brigadier Saeed Salem Al Henki, Director General of Finance and Support Services on behalf of MOI; in addition to Brigadier Salim Ali Al Shamsi, Deputy Director General of Finance and Services; Colonel Adel Abdul Rahman Abdallah, Director of Financial Affairs Department and representatives from various sectors of the MOI. During the meeting, MoF conducted a presentation which covered various aspects of the e-Dirham system. The presentation commenced with a demonstration of the system's features, the various developing stages and the challenges faced in its adoption, the system's payment and settlement services, the payment channels, the different types of e-Dirham cards and methods of use. MoF also highlighted the mechanism used for settling due payments and collecting revenues from entities using the e-Dirham system as well audit mechanisms and financial compliance tools.
