As the Western economies continue to remain in deep freeze, the number of Westerners looking at India for jobs has risen by more than 15 percent this year, reported the Press Trust of India Sunday. The report quoted industry estimates as saying that there are 40,000 foreigners -- mainly from the United States and Europe -- working in various industries in the country and hiring of foreigners has picked up by 15 to 20 percent at all levels since last year. Increasing number of foreigners are seeking jobs in the country on account of job cuts in their home countries, coupled with rising outsourcing and high taxes. Moreover, the Indian experience also adds values to their resume, reflecting an individual's ability to adapt and deal with diversity, according to the report. These professionals are mainly being hired in banking and financial services, automobile, pharma and retail sectors, apart from areas, where the domestic industry does not have competency like alternative energy and complex infrastructural sector.
