
Poland's total foreign debt grew to 278.4 billion euros (about 367 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter of this year, the National Bank of Poland said on Friday. According to the bank, Poland's long-term debt fell to 222.8 billion euros from 223.2 billion euros in the fourth quarter of 2012 and the short-term debt went up to 55.5 billion euros from 53.4 billion euros. The debt in the non-banking corporate sector grew to 110.2 billion euros from 109.7 billion euros. The debt in the banking sector fell to 48.2 billion euros from 48.8 billion euros. The debts of the government and of local self-government raised to 114.3 billion euros from 113.9 billion euros. (1 euro = 1.32 U.S. dollars)
