
President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi paid on Sunday a visit to Supreme Commission For Elections & Referendum, SCER, where he was received by the Head of commission, Judge Mohammed Hussein al-Hakemi.Hadi during the visit has got acquainted with the nature of modern preparations to achieve the new electoral roll based on a national number and in accordance with the technical systems.The President listened to explanations from the commission's head and members on the nature of technical preparations for the fingerprint and photo system. He also was briefed on the nature of the electronic system unit, which aims to circulate the database in all Yemen's institutions and ministries according to a national number.Moreover, the President gave his orders to make the new electoral roll would be achieved by the commission as the database of the national number which would be achieved by the civil services department, stressing the importance of cooperation by the Interior Ministry and relevant institutions.He also ordered the SCER to form the supervisory and main election committees from judges by coordinating with the Supreme Judicial Council to manage the process of registration and to organize the referendum on the Yemen's new constitution.Hadi highly commended what has been achieved by the commission, saying this stage would be the ground to implement any future local, parliament and presidential elections.The head of SCER said that the commission is about to finalize reviewing all experiments in this field in order to reach to a clean electoral register, noting that the commission would achieve the new system in next May, calling on all political powers along with civil society organizations to cooperate with the commission to achieve this project.
