His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister received Dr Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL and Chairman of the Board of Management, today at Gudhaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness said the Kingdom of Bahrain is committed to the continued investment in domestic transport infrastructure, whist also contributing at the GCC level, noting the benefits to the economy of the kingdom, along with regional and international partners. His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination with the private sector, expressing appreciation in particular for the strong partnership with DHL over the last 35 years and further noting that DHL, as a global market leader in the logistics industry, has invested significant capital in the kingdom through its regional headquarters based in Bahrain and through the vast human resources employed by the company, including a large number of Bahrainis. For his part, Dr Frank Appel said DHL values the business environment in Bahrain, along with its regulations, that have contributed to the success of the company and its regional operations.
