U.S. retail receipts slipped 1 percent in the week ending Saturday, the International Council of Shopping Centers reported Tuesday. The ICSC-Goldman Sachs weekly sales report said store traffic slowed in the week at grocery stores, while traffic picked up at drug stores. Compared to the same week of 2012, retail sales rose 2.4 percent, the trade group said. "Most other retail segments were relatively steady with the prior week's pace," the report said. Weather Trends International Inc. said the week's temperatures, on average, were slightly warmer than the same week a year ago and slightly warmer than the week's long-term average. The price of gasoline rose 1.8 cents per gallon in the week, the first weekly increase in 10 weeks. On Monday, the Energy Information Administration said the average nationwide price of unleaded gasoline stood at $3.538 per gallon.
