South Korea's consumer prices rose 2 percent in September from a year earlier, rising above the 2 percent level for the first time in three months, a report by the statistical agency showed Tuesday. Consumer prices advanced 2 percent in September from a year before, up from 1.2 percent on-year gain tallied in the previous month, according to Statistics Korea. From a month earlier, the prices were up 0.7 percent. Core consumer prices, which exclude volatile agricultural and oil product prices, gained 1.4 percent on-year in September, up from a 1.3 percent on-year rise in the previous month. The OECD- method core CPI, excluding food and energy prices, climbed 1.4 percent last month, up from a 1.2 percent gain for August.
