A group of 28 HR professionals in Bahrain were given insights into the importance of talent management and its link with employee retention at a Tamkeen training workshop conducted by Third Wave International (TWI) in collaboration with DeakinPrime (DP) at the Gulf Hotel. The workshop is among many in a series of Human Resources Management workshops that fall under Tamkeen’s Management & Leadership Training programme. Through the workshops under this programme, which are offered in English and Arabic, businesses and Bahrainis in the private sector are provided with high-level training on numerous aspects related to management and leadership to improve productivity, instil best practices and build business knowledge. The workshop focused on the area of effective training and development, highlighting the pivotal role played by an organisation’s human resources function in this regard to enable the organisation to maintain its edge in a highly competitive environment. Participants were also shown the methodology of developing a learning culture and different effective tools and techniques to achieve this objective. The training was delivered by DeakinPrime accredited trainer and Joint Managing Director of TWI Stefan Moraes. At the end of the four-day workshop, participants received an accredited certification awarded by DeakinPrime. "The management and leadership training workshops are among more than 100 initiatives designed to develop the capabilities of Bahrain’s human capital in line with labour market demands. To date, over 1,600 Bahrainis have benefited from these workshops, through which they acquired valuable insights and enhanced their competencies in this field to develop the businesses in which they work," said Amal Al-Kooheji, Human Capital Development Senior Manager at Tamkeen. "The Training & Development workshop signifies the strong emphasis placed on the HR function in general and training and development in particular in Bahrain, and underlines the Kingdom’s determination to boost economic growth by enhancing the quality of its human capital," TWI Joint Managing Director Dilip de S Wijeyeratne said. "Third Wave International is privileged to be associated with such an initiative, and remains committed to facilitating the entry of best practices in the sphere of HR to the Kingdom of Bahrain.” Workshops covering Performance Management and Recruitment & Selection have already been conducted successfully by TWI as part of this workshop series.
