Qatar International Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd (Tasweeq) received Asia''s Best Brand Award in the oil and gas sector by the Asian Leadership Awards Committee during a ceremony held at Taj Palace Hotel in Dubai. According to a press statement issued by the company, Tasweeq has been selected as the best brand in Asia according to the standards of practical intellect and its market share in addition to the degree of commitment and organization. Tasweeq Acting Executive Director for Administration Abdulla Abdulmalik said the award recognizes the efforts of the company''s management and staff to provide the best energy products to customers through what is effectively produced by the State of Qatar. This is the second award for Tasweeq after winning "Jury''s Choice of Award" for Asia''s Best Brand at the CMO Asia Awards organised in Singapore in 2010. The Awards ceremony was attended by around 150 people, including senior leaders and decision makers in the oil and gas sector along with government representatives from different countries. Tasweeq was incorporated in July 2007 as an independent company wholly-owned by the State of Qatar. It aims to be the world''s pre-eminent petroleum marketing company and delivers Regulated Products exported from Qatar, such as liquid petroleum gas (LPG), condensate products and Sulphur. Recently, Tasweeq also started marketing Non-Regulated Products (crude oil and GTL entitlements) on behalf of Qatar Petroleum under an agency agreement.
