Tunisia’s inflation rate rose to 5.9% in December, compared to 5.5 % in November and 3.5 % in October of 2012. According to data provided by the Tunisia National Institute of Statistics, this increase resulted from the 8.4% rise in the prices of food and beverages group, compared with December 2011, where meat prices grew by 13.9%, milk and dairy products by 11.3% and clothing by 7.7%. On the other hand, the same data showed a decline of edible oils prices by 3.8%.
