Turkish Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKEK) exported 55.4 million U.S. dollars worth of arms and ammunition in 2012, among which half of them went to Saudi Arabia. Bahrain made the second-highest purchases from MKEK worth of 5. 4 million dollars and followed by Pakistan, 4.1 million dollars, while Belgium made four million dollars purchase, according to the company's statistic report. Turkey exported arms and ammunition to 28 countries in four continents in 2012, including the United States, Germany, Spain, Argentina, Vietnam, Switzerland and Thailand. MKEK, a major government-controlled group produces equipments for Turkish military, has made the target of 75 million dollars' export of arms in 2013.
