Turkish Airlines on Friday finalized an order for 82 mid-range jets from European aeroplane manufacturer Airbus, in a deal with a listed value of 9.3 billion dollars, dpa reported. The deal for planes in the company's A320 family of planes also includes an option to purchase 35 further jets, meaning the company, a subsidiary of EADS, could enjoy an even higher price tag from the deal. However, the final value of the Turkish Airlines deal is not set in stone, as aeroplane manufacturers are known for offering rebates on their products. Turkish Airlines called the deal the biggest in its history. The company transported 39 million passengers last year, with plans to increase to 46 million this year and 90 million by 2020.
