Ahmed Mohammed Taher, Charge d'Affaires Nigerian embassy in stressed that the economic and trade relations between UAE and Nigeria has witnessed sizeable development thanks to the keenness of the leaderships of both countries on strengthening ties in various fields. He said that there are a number of projects currently in place between UAE and Nigeria expecting that the coming period will witness more joint ventures and investment between the two countries, especially in the energy, telecommunications and civil aviation sectors. In a statement to the Emirates News Agency "WAM" on the occasion of the launch of flights by Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi to Lagos, he stressed these six flights in a week will definitely contribute in activating economic, trade, industrial and tourism cooperation between the two sides ultimately boosting bilateral relations between UAE and Nigeria.
