A UK-based plastic surgery clinic is set to expand to Dubai in May as part of its growth plans. The Harley Street Surgery Corporation said in a statement that it will open new clinics in Dubai and Spain next month and will embark on a major recruitment drive for surgeons later this year. Harley Street Surgery Corporation currently consists of the Harley Street Plastic Surgery unit and Harley Street Beauty, a cosmetic dentistry brand. It said in the statement that it offered cosmetic surgery in the UK at prices that were 30 percent lower than the industry average. Mike Mazza, Group CEO, said: “We have a simple model that we launched in the UK, and have now migrated into other countries to ensure the business works globally - and it does. “Our vision is to be the first truly global brand encompassing all beauty treatments, and to develop a reputation for utilising the best practitioners, combined with the best price.” Over the coming year, Harley Street Beauty will open 50 clinics throughout the UK, one in each county, with seven in London, he added. In February, two celebrity Beverly Hills cosmetic surgeons announced plans to open a clinic in Dubai next month. Plastic surgeons Dr Drew Ordon and Dr Ritu Chopra, who regularly appear on the globally syndicated TV show ‘The Doctors’, plan to start receiving patients at their new Dubai clinic in May. The medical themed TV show, which is screened in the UAE on MBC4, proved popular with Arab viewers and Ordon said it had resulted in a spike in patients from the region. Last year, hair transplant clinics in Dubai reported a surge in demand following admissions from celebrities that they have paid for surgery to cover their receding hairlines. The city has seen increasing numbers of medical clinics and plastic surgeons offering hair transplant procedures, with specialists flying into Dubai to capitalise on demand. Industry experts suggest much of this is on the back of celebrities such as footballer Wayne Rooney and British actor James Nesbit admitting to undergoing the procedure.
